Lost River Outdoor Center at Halpatiokee Regional Park Launches
Summer Adventure Youth Camp That Manifests Nature-Focused Fun

-- For five weeks,  young adventurers-in-the-making will enjoy plein-air programming
that venerates the Great Outdoors  and instills a lifelong reverence for nature. --

If your child dreams of becoming the next Bear Grylls then look no further than Lost River Outdoor Center’s new Summer Youth Adventure Camp at Halpatiokee Regional Park.

“We are so excited to build on the 26-year summer camp tradition we built at Jupiter Outdoor Center and now introduce at Lost River Outdoor Center,” says Rick Clegg, who owns both locations in addition to Love Street Outdoor Center in Jupiter. “Halpatiokee Regional Park has all the necessary ingredients for an epic youth adventure.”

Running Monday-Friday June 3-21 and July 8-19, kids ages 6-14 will cultivate critical life skills while immersing themselves in a range of exploratory outdoor adventures that complement Halpatiokee’s 65 acres of active parkland, over 500 acres of wetland preserves, and long stretches of land and water trail systems gifted with breathtaking vantages.

Camp activities include:

  • Canoeing & Kayaking - Canoeing and kayaking are peaceful yet exhilarating ways to access the freshwater habitats throughout Halpatiokee Regional Park. Here, kids will take in the lush panoramas along the St. Lucie River, which is home to more than 4,000 plant and animal species. Gliding along, they are likely to encounter many of the area’s winged and four-legged residents, including river otters, alligators, gopher tortoises, and docile West Indian manatees.

  • Hiking & Biking - With approximately eight miles of hiking and off-road non-motorized biking trails, kids will get a taste of the landscape early settlers would have witnessed. Past scrubby flatwoods, mesic hammock, and river land, they will see hundreds of native species of flora and fauna, including at least 13 species designated by the State of Florida as threatened or endangered.

  • Environmental Explorations - The next generation of environmental stewards will have more opportunities to explore the natural world through themed programs led by local educators and experts. Held in both outdoor and indoor classroom settings, this interactive discovery series aims to expand children’s understanding and curiosity about local wildlife and nurture the need for a sustainable and ecologically balanced future.

Lost River Outdoor Center’s Summer Adventure Youth Camp runs daily for five weeks. The cost for one full-week session is $485 per camper and includes a custom designed rash guard for comfort and sun protection. While single-day sessions are not available, children may leave camp early or skip days with parental consent. This fee does not cover lunch.
